About

Hey there!

I'm Vikash, a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in 3D modeling, CAD design, and part assemblies using SolidWorks. As a final-year student at IIT Delhi, I’ve completed advanced design courses (MCP101, MCP201, MCP311), refining my skills in mechanical part modeling, precision assembly, and product visualization.

I’ve gained hands-on experience as a Mechanical Design Intern at Tadpole Projects Pvt. Ltd., where I contributed to the development of a military-grade Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV). My role involved designing a robust chassis, advanced suspension systems, and seamless sensor integration. Additionally, I’ve freelanced on the LZZR Project, focusing on component optimization and industrial product design.

My strengths lie in SolidWorks 2022, mechanical assemblies, and rapid prototyping, with proficiency in prototyping for research and 3D printing. I am passionate about delivering high-performance, functional designs that bridge the gap between concept and real-world application.

Pricing is flexible, and I’m always open to discussing custom design solutions that meet your needs. Let’s collaborate on mechanical product design, CAD modeling, and industrial engineering solutions to bring your ideas to life!

Feel free to reach out, and let’s get started on your next project!

Experience

  • Lunar Evacuation Project Sairaj Balraj · Part-time Jan 2024 – Present 1 yrs 1 mos New Delhi, DL, India Currently, I am working on an innovative Aerospace Project titled Lunar Evacuation Project (LEP), alongside my team members Sairaj Balraj & Manish. Our objective is to design a robust 3D CAD model for a compact and efficient evacuation system tailored for lunar missions. Leveraging SolidWorks 2022, we are developing an advanced evacuation mechanism that integrates cutting-edge materials and lightweight engineering principles.

The design features a helium-filled Zorb system, which acts as a protective cushioning for the injured person. It incorporates a hinged bar mechanism that enables a single person to carry a fainted astronaut safely and efficiently. The design is meticulously optimized to ensure ease of deployment, structural integrity, and minimal weight—keeping the total system under 23 kg to meet lunar payload constraints.

Key materials used in the design include:

Cryogenic-grade stainless steel for the helium gas cylinder to ensure safe insulation and storage of pressurized gas at extremely low temperatures.
Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) for the Zorb components, providing high tensile strength, flexibility, and impact resistance.
Aerospace-grade aluminum (Al 7075) for the hinged bar mechanism, offering an optimal balance of strength and lightweight properties.
To further enhance the functionality, the design incorporates:

Strategic weight distribution to maintain balance during manual operation.
Material compatibility analyses to ensure durability in extreme lunar temperatures.
Detailed stress and strain simulations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks to validate structural reliability under dynamic loading conditions.
This project not only showcases my expertise in 3D CAD design and material selection but also demonstrates my ability to apply finite element analysis to solve complex engineering challenges. Through this initiative, I aim to contribute to the future of space exploration and astronaut safety systems.
  • 2D & 3D CAD Design Freelancer and Trainer Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd ,Delhi ,India · Internship May 2024 – Jul 2024 2 mos New Delhi, DL, India During my internship at Tadpole Projects, IIT Delhi, I designed a robust Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) for the Indian Army, incorporating a Double Wishbone suspension system to optimize performance under demanding conditions. Additionally, I developed a Pedal-Powered Hacksaw with a 2:1 gear ratio for efficient cutting of medium-strength materials. Both projects were presented at esteemed forums, including the Army Expo at R&I Park, and were recognized for their practical applicability and attention to detail.
