About
My drafting and CAD background covers a wide area of expertise starting in aerospace at Martin Marietta, and continuing to Lockheed Martin. There I worked on ground support for Titan and Atlas using everything from drafting boards, Computer Vision 2D/3D, and I was introducted and trained in ProE in the early '90s making me some of the first so trained at Lockheed Martin where we supported Atlas III and Atlas V. After that I returned to Community College of Denver to take over running the Computer Aided Drafting and Design program for over 20 years where I taught AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, CREO, Fusion 360, 3D Printing, and 3D Scanning. I have retired from CCD this last May and am interested in getting design work local to the Denver Colorado area.

I started my little CAD design company on the heels of Air Technologies failure. I've just taken on a single job at a time to fit in with my responsibility at Community College of Denver. Now that I'm retired I want to see where this opportunity takes me. I've tried to make my cost per hour very competitive and I would like to find more designers needing their dreams made ready to present to the world.

I came to Community College of Denver with the assignment of "saving the program". It had become stuck in AutoCAD 2D world and because of that was suffering in a reduction of student enrollment. I brought my years of aerospace 3D mechanical design to the program and followed the next almost 20 years of my life growing the program from a technical stand point (Inventor/SolidWorks/Fusion/ProE-CREO/3D Printing/3D Scanning) with the follow on growth in student attendance and placement. I left because at 67 I thought it was time to find another 30 year old to replace me to aim the program into an arch more aligned with where the latest trend would take it.

I was offered a percentage of this company to handle all the CAD development at the "right hand" of the lead engineer. Some of the CAD examples shown in my examples area are from that company. The idea was to build a high performance small air compressor with modular support equipment in the form of a air tank and hose reel. As with most small start up companies funding got in the way.

I joined the Atlas III ground support equipment group when Lockheed merged with Martin. Our group was the first in the LockMart family to learn and use ProE for all the redevelopment of the various SLC (Space Lanch Complex) for the larger engine (RD180) Atlas.

Activities and Societies:
It's a community college the activities were getting to class around other work and life activities. Although my GPA was such that I was accepted into Phi Theta Kappa the honors society for 2 year colleges.
An Associates of Applied Science is a 2 year degree with 60 credit hours to obtain. Back then the drafting board, drafting machine, velum and mylar were the tools of the day. With those a student built a real feel for how the geometry worked, and how to plan a drawing and drawing set that would add greatly to my skills as a CAD drafter later.
