The product mounts to existing pool decking (stone, concrete, etc) with four bolts with a bulk of the machine beneath the water-line. The minimum surface area is defined in the attached model, but we're looking for creative variations around the same footprint. Designed to be both a recreational and fitness oriented product, you have a creative license to shape the future of this innovative product.
As a minimum, the 'Top Shroud' must be independently removable from the entire unit. The other skins can separate or be formed into a single body.
Submission File Type: Solidworks, .STP, IGS., IGES., .x_t, .dwg
If adding renderings as a submission, please use examples on page 3 of contest guidelines.
Please ask if other file types are acceptable.
There are samples of similar swim jet units in the attachments.

For any renderings, an example of the Stainless Steel Mesh Grill is attached. FYI, the hole pattern for this mesh is not shown in the 3D model.
The Stiffeners in the lower portion around the Mesh Grill can be redesigned if they do not fit into the skins you create. Please account for them in your new design, but it is OK to have them omitted from you entry. Otherwise, feel free to include them if you prefer.

The overall height of the unit is approximately 45.90" or 116cm. For reference dimensions, please refer to PDF attachment named "CAD Crowd Contest".
Designer
The height is 38 cm?
thank you for confirming

Feel free to make a design using other production methods. It will be judged equally. We are not limited to vacuum forming, however, we have a supply channels in place for other products that use this process.

May I ask if you could upload the Engineering CAD data of the current product? It would help greatly when constructing the design outer shell.

A common solution is using sheet metal screws by drilling a pilot hole or with a retaining clip. The skins will be 5-axis machined after forming, so holes could be located in most locations. In the case where a support is located behind the skin, the skin could have a clearance hole and then a pilot hole can be drilled into the thicker support piece during assembly or in earlier in the manufacturing process on a CNC router (assuming the hole is not drilled into the thickness of the material).
In the sample models, any piece that has a thickness of .1875", .375" or .500" will be plastic material and machined in-house on a CNC router.
Another solution skin to skin could use a threaded retaining clip that could be used with sheet metal screws or machined threads. Here is a link to a possible retaining clip. http://fastening.araymond-industrial.com/catalog/metal-snap-on-nuts-for-st-screw-with-retaining-tab-p6-o4016.htm

This is a very intresting contest .
I have some questions.
What about the type of assembly between the skin parts
What are the possibilities of use (srews,clips,slides...).
Thank you
Best regards

I have a question to ask:
In your preliminary assembly I see the "Mounting plate assembly" part.
It would seem to be made of stainless steel with a 1/2 "thickness, and therefore weighs approx
63 kg - 138 Lb.
Is it really necessary that it be so massive, could it not be thinner and bended with less weight?
Thanks for an answer.
Regards.
