I mentored under someone whose been in the pool design business for 50 years. While pool design is my bread-and-butter, I can easily draw up hardscapes, planters, landscaping and the like to turn any backyard into an oasis. My main demographic is in Texas hill country, so if you need to incorporate artificial turf or xeriscaping due to arid conditions, it's not an issue. - CAD Drafter M.A. Ray Const. LLC · Full-time Jun 2023 – Present 2 yrs 7 mos Burnet, TX, United States Lead pool designer. Responsible for drafting pools, koi ponds, poolscapes, hardscapes, landscapes, elevations, pergolas, kitchens, etc. I would go out and measure elevations, and communicate with the customer their budget and what they were looking for in a pool or water feature. I'd go back to the office, do a preliminary design, and after a couple more meetings with the client, develop a final plan and render of what their pool would look like. Throughout the design process I would edit and create plans to pass inspections and code as they came up. I was also responsible for managing the branding and advertising for the small pool company.
