    • Tackling multi-disciplinary projects in extreme environments for particle accelerator, e.g., Ultra-high
    Vacuum, or radiation.
  • R&D Experimenta Mechanical Engineer Renaissance Fusion · Full-time Sep 2022 – Feb 2024 1 yrs 5 mos Grenoble, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France • Working in a deep tech startup in multi-disciplinary projects (given the size of the company).
    • The main objective is to conceive from concept to manufacture, commissioning and testing a machine
    for depositing a high temperature superconductor. Design involves considerations of extreme
    environments such as temperatures above 800ºC, vacuum, and high oxygen content.

Education

    • Investigated the multivariable system involving thermodynamics, material science, and contact
    mechanics and the severe environment thereof.
    • Developed the experimental method (metrics and test protocol) and executed statistically planned
    experiments (DOE) to understand the different drivers.
    • Identified the important process variables and engineered new materials that validated the statistical
    hypothesis, creating the learning for optimising the system.
    • Advised Rolls-Royce on the development directions for their jet engines (based on robust logic and
    statistics). This meant balancing industry/academia interests in a high industrial impact research team,
    impacting key stakeholders in monthly meetings where I streamlined knowledge and delivered it to an
    audience of different backgrounds.
