About

I love thinking big, creating inspiring ideas, and putting in the hard work to bring those ideas to reality. That big idea might be something small that improves your workflow, or perhaps bigger.
I am a hands-on technical designer and problem solver with expertise in CAD modeling, fabrication, and prototyping for mechanical, exhibit, and research applications. I specialize in precision design, interactive experiences, and scientific instrumentation.

My extensive background in mechanical and structural design, rapid prototyping, and fabrication workflows allows me to support projects across museum exhibits, industrial design, and high-tech research applications. I have a proven ability to develop, troubleshoot, and enhance mechanical systems, interactive experiences, and fabrication assemblies, ensuring seamless functionality and long-term reliability.

As a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) with advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, I am skilled in 3D modeling, technical documentation, and CNC machining, with an eye toward design for manufacturability (DFM). I deliver high-performance solutions in both commercial and research environments through collaboration with engineers, scientists, and creatives to produce innovative, functional, and efficient designs.

I excel in leading fabrication projects from concept to execution, integrating digital modeling with hands-on craftsmanship. I am passionate about leveraging technical skills, material science, and process optimization to push the boundaries of design and technology.

Creative problem-solving is a skill I honed while co-directing four international medical research trips to Kathmandu, Nepal, and Lima, Peru. As the Director of Logistics, I navigated massive logistical challenges conducting medical research in impoverished regions, following a sacred pilgrimage to a 15,000ft lake during monsoon season. These experiences and the resulting publications led me to co-found a medical device start-up based on our research in Nepal and Peru.

As a co-creator of the BioSherpa™ Specimen Transport System (STS), I led the product design of the physical component of the STS, from concept through CAD modeling, prototyping, and 3D printing production, contributing to BioSherpa’s receipt of a patent.

I am open to opportunities in technical design, experiential exhibits, science/technology innovation, and additive manufacturing.

Experience

  • Founder & CAD Designer BioSherpa, LLC · Part-time Jan 2020 – Mar 2025 5 yrs 2 mos Buffalo, NY, United States Co-founded a medical device start-up based on prior international research in Nepal and Peru. Co-Created the BioSherpa™ Specimen Transport System (STS), a novel biofilm-reducing diagnostic agent that facilitates microbiologic culture, even in patients on antibiotics. Led CADD modeling and 3D printing production for a patented medical device, ensuring design accuracy.

Research and Development: Co-directed R&D with Dr. Thomas Cumbo to advance BioSherpa’s Specimen Transport System (STS) through multiple iterations.

Product Development: Developed the physical component of the STS from concept to 3D production, contributing to BioSherpa’s receipt of a patent in 2021.

CAD Design and Manufacture: Designed and prototyped BioSherpa’s STS using SolidWorks.

Project Management: Integrated engineering and material science principles to develop functional, field-ready medical diagnostic equipment.
  • Head of Exhibit Department Buffalo Museum of Science · Full-time Jan 2023 – Oct 2024 1 yrs 9 mos Buffalo, NY, United States Managed the Exhibits Department, supervising two Exhibit Technicians and overseeing a repair studio, woodshop, and over 100 exhibits in almost 200,000 ft2 of gallery space. Led exhibit maintenance, repair, design, and installation, combining storytelling, mechanics, and technology. Collaborated across departments to enhance visitor experiences and optimize maintenance/repair processes.

CAD Design and Exhibit Fabrication: Created interactive displays using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp. Fabricated and installed hands-on mechanical exhibits with precision engineering.

Designed, constructed, and installed Connect Gallery Sculpture and the museum’s gift shop display wall, among other projects. Completion of display wall immediately increased museum revenue and sculpture received praise from Noa Haim, the Dutch artist and creator of the product used for the construction.

Equipment Maintenance: Oversaw exhibit maintenance and repair operations. Developed new maintenance regimens for the 100+ permanent exhibits to ensure the guests would experience clean and well-functioning activities every day.

Project Management: Oversaw all phases of the traveling exhibit, Curious George, creating a profitable auxiliary museum experience. Coordinated museum gallery changes and special projects. Supervised technicians and contractors to guarantee timely and cost-effective completion.

Problem Solving: Spearheaded remodeling of the Exhibit Department’s repair facilities, optimizing efficiency and organization. Created a mobile quick-response repair station that streamlined the maintenance processes, decreasing exhibit downtime by 50%.

Graphic Design: Used Photoshop to create large-format graphics and display panels, ensuring high-quality production.
