About
Mechanical Engineering Student | CAD & CAM Specialist | SolidWorks CSWA Certified
I am a fifth-year Mechanical Engineering student at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology with hands-on experience in CAD, CAM, and manufacturing processes. I am CSWA-certified in CAD, Additive Manufacturing, Electrical, and Simulation by Dassault Systèmes.
My expertise includes SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Intelitek, and Mastercam. I have worked on projects such as a fully automated pinball machine, a liquid metal-based wearable system, and a CNC fixture for gear pump machining.
Previously, I completed industrial attachments at KenGen Olkaria Naivasha, where I worked on steam line maintenance and cooling tower gearbox repair, and at DeKUT, where I gained fabrication, welding, and electrical installation experience.
I am passionate about product design, simulation, and manufacturing optimization and currently exploring innovative engineering solutions for agriculture.

I have gained hands-on experience in various aspects of geothermal power plant maintenance and design. My key responsibilities included performing maintenance on cooling tower gearboxes, replacing worn gears and components, and ensuring proper functionality of steam and brine lines to optimize power plant operations. I was involved in brine separation and redirecting steam flows to minimize wastage, ensuring dry steam reached the geothermal power plants efficiently. I also contributed to the design layout for the connection of new wells to the power plant under the supervision of an experienced engineer, utilizing AutoCAD software for precise execution.
Additionally, I designed detailed 3D models using Autodesk Inventor, including a cooling tower gearbox, condensate extraction pump, and steam generator casing, which was used for technical presentations and by technicians at the Olkaria V power plant. I participated in the plant’s annual inspection, observing procedures for shutdown and restart processes. During this inspection, I machined an adapter for a torque multiplier using a milling machine, which was critical to the inspection process. Furthermore, I worked at the chemical dosing plant, where I was responsible for mixing water and soda ash to neutralize the acidic pH of condensate in the cooling tower basin.
This experience has provided me with a solid foundation in geothermal power plant operations, maintenance, and engineering design, using both AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
