About

Product design all-rounder with expertise in 3D printing, 3D modeling, parametric design and interactive product design. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Design and 10+ years of professional experience. My work centers on the themes Digital Fabrication and Consumer Products.

Digital Fabrication
With tools such as laser cutters and 3D printers, manufacturing gets democratized and new possibilities for materiality, geometry and customization open up. In my work I explore these possibilities using state-of-the-art software such as Rhinoceros+Grasshopper, an in-house FDM 3D printer for prototyping, and 3D printing services to create 3D printed end products. I have been commissioned to work with parties such as i.Materialise, Philips Design, the Dutch embassy in Qatar, Warner Bros Inc., and fashion designer Pauline van Dongen.

Consumer Products
Impactful innovations are created by implementing the latest technologies, enabling rich interaction possibilities and tending to authentic human needs. Next to developing products with prime focus on brand identity and aesthetics, I like to combine human-centered design methods and interactive technologies early on in the product development process. I prefer future-oriented concept development and have advanced skills in visualization through sketches and 3D renderings. With a background in mobility design, I have advanced skills in creating smooth and production-ready 3D models. I create interactive prototypes that not only look good, but incorporate electronics to afford interesting and beautiful interactions. An exemplary project is a collaboration with fashion designer Marina Toeters, where an interactive yoga shirt was created for VF corporation. The shirt incorporates innovative construction methods and textile sensors that together with on-screen software provide feedback on movement and breathing.

Highly creative by nature and dedicated to my profession, I am stimulated by the joy of exploring new possibilities, developing relationships and making envisioned ideas a reality. I make sure that I communicate professionally and deliver timely. Please note that my hourly rate is an indication and may be adjusted depending on the nature of the projects. I am looking forward to working with you.
