• SENIOR AUTOCAD & REVIT TECHNICIAN DCSC Ltd · Self-employed Aug 2010 – Present 14 yrs 8 mos undefined, England, United Kingdom Having joined this company at its foundation and being solely responsible for all CAD drawings that leave the office, I have made an invaluable contribution to hundreds of projects over the past ten years. As well as designing and launching the company website, I wrote detailed technical notes, letter templates and marketing brochures. My main duties are the organisation and generation of 2D drawings using AutoCAD, creating 3D models using Revit, creating and updating CAD standards and maintenance of the company’s IT resources. Larger projects include the luxury apartments at Perran Foundry in Perranworthal, a new warehouse & production plant at Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm in Penhallow and the new hub building and retaining walls at the east Park & Ride in Truro.

It was my responsibility to ensure all electrical substations and power cables were connected on each drawing or “tile”, and that these cables were fully compatible with adjacent tiles. This complicated process, using an A1 digitisation tablet that allowed me to trace objects from paper maps and update them digitally using the CAD package Bentley Microstation, required unerring concentration and attention to detail for long periods.

  I was responsible for the standard and content of all drawings that left the office. This would involve checking the work of others and monitoring resources and deadlines. I was also responsible for the supervision of newly appointed technicians, trainees and work experience placements. I took it upon myself to monitor and fix any problems that occurred with the office’s computer network. I also assisted with important field work such as levelling, measuring up, percolation tests and manhole surveys.
