About
I am a civil engineer that worked for Zutari (previously Aurecon) as a Water Engineer. I worked with the design and project management teams on various water projects where my role included, hydraulic designs, cost analysis, feasibility studies and Bim modelling. I have gained experience working with various software such as C3D, Revit and Infraworks. This has given me ample time to develop a strong work ethic necessary for work in the field.
Previously I worked for AECOM ZA where I have had extensive site experience and built strong competencies in inspection, report writing and people’s management. I worked on the Temba water purification plant phase 6 (TWPP-6) and Mooi Mgeni transfer scheme phase 2 (MMTS-2). Working on various aspects of the TWPP-6 and MMTS-2 has given me a great appreciation and insight into the importance of Water and Environmental Engineering in the future of any developing country. As an Engineering inspector and water Engineer I have developed flexibility by being required to inspect multiple disciplines under construction supervision such as buildings and civils works on various water purification structures, pump stations, substations, pipe chambers precast yard and housing platforms. I have also done a good deal of pipe line inspection involving monitoring, clearing, excavation, laying of bedding material, pipe laying, backfilling, lining and coating pipes, mechanical installations, and commissioning.
I was fortunate to gain valuable insight and exposure as student whilst working on the Spring Grove Dam under BKS Consulting. I worked in the laboratory for two weeks doing certain lab tests as well as the evaluation of the results. I assisted with the inspection of RCC as well as the reinforced concrete for the intake structure. I also monitored the design of the layer works for the roads and the design and construction of the earth embankment. The time spent with BKS Consulting allowed me the opportunity to monitor drawings and designs as well as practice on Auto CAD.
