Experience

ASSISTANT URBAN DESIGNER GERMAN RAIL ENGINEERING COMPANY (GRE) · Contact Mar 2024 – Jun 2024 3 mos Nairobi, Nairobi County, Kenya Engaged in two major mobility projects in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: Consultancy Services for Traffic Study, Design, and Construction Supervision of Comprehensive Corridor Improvements and Design and Construction Supervision of a Citywide Intelligent Transport System (ITS). My responsibilities included:

- Conducted in-depth research and analysis on emerging trends and regulatory frameworks to inform the development of an ITS, aimed at creating vibrant, livable, and attractive public spaces within Addis Ababa's road network.
- Provided technical expertise to promote inclusive, user-centered design by proposing accessible public transportation interfaces, catering to individuals with diverse mobility needs.
Collaborated with engineers, policymakers, and experts to guide decisions on integrating advanced technologies such as sensor networks, smart traffic management systems, and real-time data analytics to enhance transport efficiency and safety.
- Drafted, revised, and finalized designs, bills of quantities, and reports necessary for implementing the ITS across Addis Ababa.
- Engaged with local communities, advocating for their inclusion in the design process to ensure that the infrastructure reflected their needs.
- Contributed to the development and finalization of the ITS master plan for Addis Ababa.
URBAN DESIGNER SPECIALIST RENNAISSANCE PLANNING LIMITED · Part-time Apr 2022 – Oct 2022 6 mos Nairobi, Nairobi County, Kenya Participated in the design and planning phase of the Eldoret County Integrated Master Plan, focusing on urban regeneration within Eldoret Municipality. Key responsibilities included:

- Community Engagement: Conducted data collection and facilitated discussions with local residents to gather insights and perspectives on effective strategies for mobility enhancement and overall city regeneration.

- Mobility Design Solutions: Developed and proposed mobility design solutions aligned with the objectives of the Urban Regeneration Plan for Eldoret Municipality, intended for implementation by the County Government of Uasin Gishu.

- Graphic Design and Presentation: Created, refined, and presented final graphic designs to effectively communicate proposed policies to the client, ensuring clarity and visual appeal.
