About
A highly enthusiastic mechanical engineer with more than 6 years in the industry.
Held lead engineering roles in aerospace engine design before setting up a Ltd company offering mechanical engineering services. Working with companies such as Meggitt, Rolls Royce & Safran has developed a good understanding of the customer
relations and product development.
My passion for design and improving systems has enabled me to stand out as an engineer and achieve a proven track record from concept to integrated product. A variety of roles have allowed me to gain experience in different aspects of a business and become a well rounded individual. These roles include:
- Company Director (Vola Design)
- Lead Design Engineer
- Design Engineer
- Project Management
- System Testing
- Sales Representative
In my spare time I enjoy photography, videography, paragliding and a range of outdoor sports.

Mechanical Engineering Services based around:
• CAD Design (Solidworks — 9 years+, Ansys, Fusion 360)
Highly capable with the use of CAD packages to create complex models & assemblies, tolerance analysis, motion studies, technical drawings, assembly analysis, BOM creation and rendered models.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA - Solidworks, Fusion360 & Ansys)
Simple and complex assembly FEA. Competent with the use of dynamic, static, harmonic and thermal analysis within Solidworks. Validated FEA experience with engine components, vehicle components and aerospace
applications.
• Mechanical Principles
Experience in rotary engine design, aerospace components and ultralight aviation has developed an important understanding of structural design, thermal management, fatigue, material selection and also user ergonomics.
• Technical Drawings & DFM
Working to BS8888 for technical drawing standard. Technical drawings for complex designs (engine casing, rotary eccentric crank shaft, etc.)and multi-stage component manufacturing drawings. Managed project drawing requirements through PDM system. I have developed a great understanding of the various manufacturing processes and as such have a thorough understanding for 'Design for Manufacture' (DFM). Practical manufacturing experience (Lathe, mill, welding, general fabrication). Process understanding for CNC (milled and turned), casting, injection moulding, welding, sheet metal manufacture, metallic plating.
• Technical Documents
Proven experience through technical reports for NATEP funding, government research grant reports, FEA reports and design feedback. PDR & CDR presentations for Rolls Royce, Airbus and more.
• Project Planning & Budget Management (MS Project)
Managed projects from concept to completion including workload, budget, deadlines and customer reviews.
• Data Acquisition & Analysis
Managed the acquisition and analysis of engine test data. (Thermal energy analysis and requirements, power output etc.)

Parajet are a paramotor design and manufacture company that distribute internationally. Being an avid paramotor pilot I have a strong desire to aid in the design and efficiency of the products.
In addition to Parajet ultralights I have been involved with Mako Boardsports design activities, this involves design around a carbon fiber, engine powered surfboard. Some of the skills and roles are detailed below:
- Digitization of parts and technical drawings
- Component configuration control
- Design of new components
- Component testing and validation
- Technical Support
- Sales representative
This varied involvement in the business has provided me with the chance to further understand customer requirements, design limitations and the importance of communication within the business and with the customer.

Rotron Power Develop Rotary Engines for UAV applications. During my time at Rotron I was promoted to Lead Design Engineer enabling me to manage projects while focussing on the technical aspects of the product.
Responsibilities and Experiences are as follows:
Project Management
• Managed workload, budget, timelines and customer communication for 2 different projects simultaneously. Projects focused around the VTOL application and involved a long term product cycle.
Mechanical Engineering
• Designed engine components around calculated data, practical testing, FEA, and customer specifications. Engine design included concept design of new components, tolerance analysis for full engine interaction (including thermal changes), calculated combustion force and simulations validated with combustion pressure testing and FEA simulations.
DFM & Technical Drawings
• Practical manufacturing experience using mill, lathe and welder. Taking designs through concept to full production allowed development of DFM. Manufacturing drawing experience includes casting, CNC turning and milling, sheet metal fabrication and welding. Extensive tolerance analysis for full engine assembly (taking into account thermal expansion)
• Technical document writing including PDS, proposals, R&D reports, government grant report, test reports, PDR and CDR presentations
